Chalk It Up with an Attitude Blog Hop

Good evening and welcome to the monthly Stampers with an Attitude Blog Hop. From Millan.Net  This month we are showcasing the fantastic new paper pack, Chalk It Up.  You've most likely come from Christy's Blog and have seen her great artwork...makes me want a giant cookie!   The blog hop is one big circle, so just follow along and you're sure to get some great inspiration for your own crafting!

Up first I have a layout I've put together using some of my favorite sheets in the Chalk It Up pack.  These photos were taken during our trip to Walt Disney World for last year's CTMH Convention.  We had a great day at EPCOT...particularly the French Pavilion with all its great pastries!
From Millan.Net

Stamps: Great Job
Inks: Slate, Whisper
Papers: Chalk It Up, Kraft, Slate, Whisper, Teal Glitter pack
Markers: Chalk
Accessories: White Enamel Stars, Chalk It Up Picture My Life
Tools: Score Board, Artiste and Artbooking Cricut cartridges, Make It From Your Heart Vol. 2 #3

I've used one of the 4x6 cards from the Chalk It Up Picture My Life collection as a journaling box...on which I still need to journal. From Millan.Net  I love the new Great Job stamp set and used the Chalk marker to highlight the stamped images, as well as the Kraft pieces of the layout.

Next up I have a card that I made for our local team swap.

Stamps: Great Job
Inks: Lagoon
Papers: Chalk It Up, Black cardstock
Accessories: Scaredy Cat assortment
Tools: Micro-tip scissors, Make It From Your Heart Vol. 2 #20

I used the same stamp set again.  I think it makes me nostalgic for my doodling childhood days. From Millan.Net

Anyway, now you're off to see Sue's Blog and the cute little gifty idea she has.  Enjoy!

Back to Life, Back to Reality

Who can tell me what today is? From Millan.Net

If you said "Just another summer day.", well my friend, let me educate you.
From Millan.Net

Today is actually the first day of school for our district.
I know what you're thinking...From Millan.Net

But it's not too bad, actually. Our 6 week summer is just long enough to cram some fun and travel in before the "I'm bored" syndrome sets in. So after I sent the boys off for first day fun, I started cleaning up my Closet...but then put together a quick card to celebrate the day.

Stamps: School is Here
Inks: Cocoa, Chocolate, Honey, Barn Red
Papers: Timberline paper pack
Tools: Micro-tip scissors

So here's to having a quiet house to myself for a while. From Millan.Net

But all kidding aside, I'll miss my guys today.

Bling with an Attitude Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampers With An Attitude team blog hop. This evening we'll be showing off our best bling!
 From Millan.Net

You may have come from Catherine's Blog or you may have stumbled upon me by chance.  Either way, you're in for a treat with everyone's creations.

My art piece was created with the retiring Skylark paper pack and is heavy on the Cricut use.  Take a peek:

Inks: Chocolate
Papers: Skylark paper pack, Brown and Tan Glitter paper
Accessories: Chocolate embroidery floss,  Antiqued Gold Rhinestone Charms, My Creations 6x6 Canvas, Create a Shade Pearl Paint
Tools: Art Philosophy, Artiste, and Artbooking Cricut cartridges, Liquid Glass, Ruler, Piercing Tool

Here is a close up of the birdcage, it is the lightest sheet in the Brown and Tan Glitter paper pack. I went over the whole thing with Liquid Glass to give it some more dimension and shine, as well as the "dream" at the bottom of the canvas.  I added the Rhinestone Charms for even more blingy-bling!

From Millan.Net

We have three...3...cartridges from CTMH with birds on each one.  You'd think there would be a birdcage in there somewhere, right?

Well...I did. From Millan.Net    And guess what...no birdcages!  So, I made my own.  Here is a screen shot from Cricut Craft Room of all the pieces I used in my canvas and which cartridges each of the shapes come from.

The birdcage is created with the top three shapes from the AP cartridge as well as the Umbrella shape from the AB cartridge.

I hope you enjoyed your little stay with me, now move along to Sue's Blog and see what sparkly, blingy piece she's created!

Close To My Heart Briefcase

Good Saturday to you all!  We are finishing up on our summer break here in our area.  Yup, school starts Monday!
From Millan.Net

My boys are on the fence about going back.  Loquacious is moving on up to 6th grade and that means he'll be in middle school with Bio-Comp, who is in 8th grade this year.  And that leaves Knock-Out starting 3rd and at school without either of his brothers for the first time ever.  He's is actually excited about that...finally being the only Garcia brother at school! From Millan.Net

So while we are enjoying a last ditch effort of being lazy...because our summer was anything but lazy From Millan.Net
...I'm going to share a little project I started at Stamp Camp and just now finished.

It's my Close To My Heart Briefcase...

Inks: Chocolate
Papers: Skylark paper pack, Chocolate cardstock
Accessories: My Creations Journaling Cards Box, Burlap Ribbon, wooden buttons, hemp, antique copper brads, Velcro dots

I made it to accompany me when I do Home Gatherings.  Inside are things that remind me, and let others know, why I love being a part of the CTMH family.  I haven't got around to filling it yet, but the idea is to put a photo of my family because this "job" lets me stay available for them, a watch because I set my own work hours, money because...well, I get paid to have this much fun!  You get the idea. From Millan.Net

Here is a shop of the back, complete with a pocket in the back to hold my business cards!

Be sure and stop by tomorrow evening, there is a great blog hop that will be going around! From Millan.Net

Studio J Independence Picture My Life and Layout

From Millan.Net

We were up really early today so the boys could go out and put up flags while it was still cool enough outside.  Although, when it's already 80° at 5:30 in the morning...I don't hold out too much hope that the rest of the day will be any cooler.
 From Millan.Net

To help celebrate today, I'm sharing more Studio J work.  Up first is a set of Picture My Life cards done with the Independence paper pack.  I didn't get enough of it while it was out in paper form, so now I can use it up with studio scrapping!

This is a layout I did years ago when we first moved into our new house...3 years ago yesterday, in fact!  The boys had never played with sparklers before so we thought it was time to introduce them.  At one point I told them to just squiggle the sparklers in the air...and it looks like they actually spelled out the word "BOYS"!

Whatever your plans for today are, I hope you have a safe and sparkly day!
