June/July is monsoon season here in Tucson. And that means rain. I'm not talking about a sprinkle here and there either.
I was just about to leave the house to get the boys from piano lessons when a microburst hit our neighborhood. 65mph winds and sideways rain. At one point I couldn't even see the houses across the street.
Just thought I'd share a bit of Tucson with you all!

The Smell of Freedom
Welcome to another blog hop with the Stampers with an Attitude team. This month we're sharing our Patriotic Art with an Attitude!
If you're following along, you've just come from Melinda's Blog.
Are you on inspiration overload yet?
Well, let me show you my project. I told the boys my idea for it and they all gave me blank stares.
I don't think they quite understood my vision. But when I was finished, they all thought it was cool! How about you?
The frame holds a 5x7 photo to give you an idea of the size. All the flowers were cut with the Accent 2 flower on page 54 of the handbook. I cut plenty of them at 2.5" and 2". After rolling them up, I sprayed them with a Saddle reinker/water mix to give it an antiqued look.
So this has been dubbed The Smell of Freedom in our house and now sits in our entry way. I have to admit, I don't have a lot of patriotic home décor so I'm excited to now have something to put out every year.
Thanks for stopping by! Next on your travels is Cat's Blog...Enjoy!

Purple Is A Manly Color
It's been a while since I shared a Studio J layout with you. And since I'm still (kinda) unwinding from Convention, this would be the perfect time to show you a quick layout the boys helped me with.
Last year we started the boys in Kempo lessons...because they sorely needed some sort of physical outlet! (Especially Knock-Out, man that kid can wear me out by mid morning!) A couple of weeks ago, they all took their purple belt test and passed. We got some shots of them outside the gym with their instructors...plus lots of them acting, well like themselves.
Some of the boys in the class weren't too sure about wearing purple, but their instructors told them it was the manliest belt color. I suppose it worked because they all proudly wear it now!
This is the last week of summer break for the boys. We've been going non stop for the past month, and I'm looking forward to getting a break myself!
