Studio J Independence Picture My Life and Layout

 

 

We were up really early today so the boys could go out and put up flags while it was still cool enough outside.  Although, when it's already 80° at 5:30 in the morning...I don't hold out too much hope that the rest of the day will be any cooler.
 

To help celebrate today, I'm sharing more Studio J work.  Up first is a set of Picture My Life cards done with the Independence paper pack.  I didn't get enough of it while it was out in paper form, so now I can use it up with studio scrapping!
 

This is a layout I did years ago when we first moved into our new house...3 years ago yesterday, in fact!  The boys had never played with sparklers before so we thought it was time to introduce them.  At one point I told them to just squiggle the sparklers in the air...and it looks like they actually spelled out the word "BOYS"!

Disney Character Picture My Life with Studio J

Happy July 1st everyone!  And a Happy Canada Day to all my friends from the North!
 

I'm still riding that magical Disney high, so I wanted to share some Picture My Life cards I created last month using Studio J.  These are, obviously, minimalistic of some famous Disney characters, but I love the way the turned out!

Chilling Out with Studio J

It was a scorcher today!

 

 



Perfect for staying inside I thought.  Today was the first day of swim team practice and I can tell I'm going to go through a lot of water just sitting and watching the boys!

Here is another poolside Studio J layout.  We don't have a pool at our home so the boys take every advantage they can when one is available.  Even if its not quite warm enough to be in the water, like it was here in these shots.

With summer in full swing around here, I'll try my hardest to have frequent posts...but I can't guarantee anything.  At least until Convention time comes around again!

Keeping Cool at the Lake

So after the talk yesterday about all the heat we already have here...it rained in parts of town. Well then Mr. Weatherman...what will today be like I wonder?


Today's layout features photos taken at a family reunion a couple of years ago up in Utah. My brother and I and our kids were coming back from a long dusty hike and we came upon Navajo Lake. Well we couldn't pass up the opportunity for some cooling off!

The kids had fun walking out to the sandbars and throwing big rocks into the lake.  In the end we were all pretty wet but I think we had more fun than the rest of the family back at the cabins!

Making a Splash with Studio J

I signed the boys up for swim team today. Two out of three were excited...and that's a majority, right?  It's already reached into the 100's here and I can't wait for the local pool to open tomorrow!

Last year only one of the boys wanted to be on the team.  It was nice that he had something to call his own but I think having his brothers with him will be good for all of them.  This is a layout I made of Loquacious for his final meet last year.  Our local pool is named Purple Heart and the mascot is the Penguins!
  

They've all requested racing suits and goggles for this year...so they look more professional I guess.
The teams will be posted next week, so I suppose it's time to get some pre-team practice in!

Rediscovering Close To My Heart

After cutting paper all weekend (it seems), I think I'm just about ready for my kids' classes this week. The only thing that concerns me is if they get done before time is up. Then we just sit and stare at each other for the rest of the time?


While I'm making sure I have everything packed up to go, take a look at this Studio J layout I did. In February, I went with some friends and fellow consultants to a Close To My Heart event held in Phoenix.

See the little blinkie on the side of my blog? The one inviting you to Rediscover everything that makes you happy? That is what this whole event was about. And I needed it! Not only did it give me a chance to be with friends I may only see once a year, but I needed to Rediscover what I loved about crafting and CTMH. And these people are on the top of that list!

 

 

Cruisin' Into Summer

Last day of school! Since we have year round school here, our summer break is relatively short.  So we have to cram as much fun and relaxation in six weeks as we can!

To get started with all our summer driving around, I made more PML cards.  This time I used one of my favorite paper packs, Cruisin'.  It has so many fun My Stickease to use!

Photo Printing in Studio J

If you're like my, you tend to take a lot of photos. A lot of photos. So what do you do when you want those photos on your walls? Well, Studio J can help with that, too! I've been showing you Picture My Life cards created using the No Limits pattern in Studio J. You can also use it to make large 12"x12" photos!

I'm using these photos in my stairway gallery...when I ever get around to hanging pictures that is.

There are other sizes of photo sheets available as well. Just choose to use the Express Collections and use the Photo Collections pattern. There are 7 sheets of different size photos you can use.

Halloween Studio J and Picture My Life cards

I know it's the middle of May and nowhere near Halloween, but I've been working on my Studio J layouts with coordinating Picture My Life cards. These are photos from last year's Trunk or Treat. The boys actually did costumes this year and pretty much made them all by themselves. So proud.




The Mischief paper pack was perfect for these sepia toned photos and I loved making the little scene so much...I created some PML cards to go with it. The My Stickease are really fun to play with in this set!

Studio J Superhero

I'm having some frustrating issues with my Photoshop program today.  So while I try and get that sorted I can share some Studio J layouts.  

 

I love, love, love Studio J!  I can just cruise through my photos in the computer and quickly make a layout.  Doesn't matter how old the photos are, doesn't matter if they've been forgotten about over the years...I took the pictures for a reason and Studio J lets me present them in such a fantastic way for everyone to enjoy!

This layout was made with the now retired Superhero paper pack. 

I loved using it to create cards and books for my boys...and I miss it terribly.  But you know another thing I love about Studio J?  I can scrap with retired paper whenever I want!

 

Anyway, back to the layout...I've been pretty good about making layouts for the boys when they earn their Kenpo belts.  I like to make the focus color the same as their belts and this paper pack was just perfect for their blue belts.

 



And all the My Stickease added a fun element to the photos!  Kind of like an old Batman/comic feel to it.
