Halloween Studio J and Picture My Life cards

I know it's the middle of May and nowhere near Halloween, From Millan.Netbut I've been working on my Studio J layouts with coordinating Picture My Life cards. These are photos from last year's Trunk or Treat. The boys actually did costumes this year and pretty much made them all by themselves. So proud.

The Mischief paper pack was perfect for these sepia toned photos and I loved making the little scene so much...I created some PML cards to go with it. The My Stickease are really fun to play with in this set!

Card for a New Home

I recently found out a friend and her family are moving. From Millan.Net

Not far, but far enough I won't see her as much.  We used to get together to play games and have fun evenings with all the kids...but life has gotten busy for both of us and we sadly haven't been able to do that in quite a while.
From Millan.Net

I wanted to make her a quick card to let her know that she'll be missed... From Millan.Net...but that I'm happy she and her family have found a great place to live. From Millan.Net
She says it has lots of space...and with baby #7 on the way I suppose they need it! From Millan.Net

Stamps: Chairs to You (retired)
Inks: Chocolate
Papers: Kraft, Colonial White cardstock
Tools: Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge, journaling pen

This card design is completely CASed inspired by this card I found on Pinterest.  I used the CCR and Art Philosophy cartridge to create the house and heart shapes.

The inside of the card says, "No matter what, no matter where...It's always home when love is there."  And I know that is just the perfect thought for my friend and her family.

Base & Bling for my Crew

Well apparently I wasn't the only one in the world that was having issues with Adobe yesterday. From Millan.Net  I'm just so very glad it wasn't something I had done to my own computer...which is what Engineer would immediately think, right honey? From Millan.Net

Now that things have been smoothed over I can show you a couple more Base & Bling pendants I've made.

Last month I had several great ladies join my Craft Closet Crew.  Besides our team tote, I'm sending them each one of these cute necklaces for them to show off while they start their new hobby/business.

Studio J Superhero

I'm having some frustrating issues with my Photoshop program today. From Millan.Net  So while I try and get that sorted I can share some Studio J layouts.

I love, love, love Studio J!From Millan.Net  I can just cruise through my photos in the computer and quickly make a layout.  Doesn't matter how old the photos are, doesn't matter if they've been forgotten about over the years...I took the pictures for a reason and Studio J lets me present them in such a fantastic way for everyone to enjoy!
This layout was made with the now retired Superhero paper pack.  From Millan.Net
I loved using it to create cards and books for my boys...and I miss it terribly.  But you know another thing I love about Studio J?  I can scrap with retired paper whenever I want!

Anyway, back to the layout...I've been pretty good about making layouts for the boys when they earn their Kenpo belts.  I like to make the focus color the same as their belts and this paper pack was just perfect for their blue belts.

And all the My Stickease added a fun element to the photos!  Kind of like an old Batman/comic feel to it. From Millan.Net

If you still haven't tried Studio J, please...go now...just go and try it!  You can thank me later.

No. 1 Dad Book Card

I have one last card to share for my upcoming Timberline class. This is a book style card that I've done once before.   It's for my dad, so if you're looking dad...shoo, go away!
From Millan.Net

Ok, not that I really think he'll see it before next month, but can't be too safe.

As I was going to say, when Father's Day comes around I have a hard time finding things in stores for him...or Engineer for that matter.  He's not a golfer, or a beer drinker (unless root beer counts), or a griller, or a car enthusiast, or a sports nut, or anything else that stores typically showcase for dads.  But what my dad is, is a reader.  Oh man, can that man read!  Growing up he always seemed to have a book in his hands.  Hmm.  I guess the apple didn't fall to far from that tree. From Millan.Net

With him in mind, I made this last card in the set:

Stamps: My Hero (Hostess Rewards only), You're the Best
Inks: Chocolate
Papers: Timberline paper pack, Kraft cardstock
Accessories: Burlap ribbon, Durables Studs
Accessories: Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge

Inside I have a framed picture of the two of us...most likely very close to his first Father's Day ever.
Awww...wasn't I a cute baby? From Millan.Net

I have some other designs in mind for Engineer using this same concept.  But I'll have to keep that hidden until Father's Day...I know he reads my blog!

A Stitch in Time...

Morning all!  I have to get some housekeeping things in order for today From Millan.Net so rather than not post anything, I'm going to share one of CTMH's Art Attack videos.

Stitching on layouts and cards gives such a homemade quality that I just really love.  It's something that may take a bit of time to do, but I find it so relaxing while I do it.  And having the right tools makes all the difference, right?
